Swimsuits to Flatter Your figure

Are you sick and tired of your daggy, frumpy swimsuit? Do you want to look stunning and feel positive at the beach this Summer?

The secret to looking sensational and feeling confident in your swimsuit is to enhance and play up your good features, whilst minimising or covering up your problem areas.

Body Shapes and Swimsuit Solutions

Larger Bust

Enhance – Your bottom and legs with bright colours/prints and a medium to high cut leg on your pants.

Minimise – Your bust with a solid colour Tankini Top. Some swimsuits now have built in bras which offer good support, or look for wider shoulder straps.

Avoid – Mini bottoms and plunging neck lines.

Pear Shape

Enhance – Your bust and the top part of your body with a halter top, a high necked suit or interesting patterns and details.

Minimise – your bottom and hips with solid colour pants.

Avoid – high cut legs as they will emphasize your bottom and hips.

Flat Chested

Enhance – your bottom with a string bikini or interesting detail on your bikini pants.

Minimise – your small bust by keeping the same pattern/colour for both your top and bottom. A triangle shaped bikini top, ruching or details on your bikini top will give the illusion of a larger breast. Or go for a padded bikini top.

Avoid – Horizontal stripes, they make you look flatter.

Sporty Figure

Enhance – your fit body with a two piece suit in a strong bright colour. Or go tomboy style with a short style fitted singlet top and cute boy leg pants.

Minimise – your lack of curves with interesting patterns or detail on your swimsuit.

Avoid – Solid coloured shapeless tank tops, and vertical stripes.

Solutions to other Problem Areas:

Short Legs – try spaghetti style bikini bottoms or high cut leg styles they will make your legs appear longer.

Flabby Tummy – try a dark coloured tankini top, worn with roll top high waisted pants, these will give your tummy support.

No Hips – try patterned pants or pants with interesting details, this will give the illusion of curves and give you some shape.

Broad Shoulders – try a square neckline with wider shoulder straps this will help to make them look narrower.

Round Bottom – try baggy boy leg board shorts, wear them with a fitted lycra singlet, this will balance everything out and give you confidence.

Have a great Summer!

Swimsuit Bikinis For Pregnant Women – Should You Show Your Bump Or Hide It?

During swimsuit and bikini season, it used to be that some pregnant women would wear one-piece suits to cover their bump, and sometimes other women would choose a loose and flowing top that resembled a cape with straps. Each suit was designed to hide the pregnant woman’s tummy. But all that has changed now in the world of maternity fashions which reflects women’s preferences for swimwear apparel.

Perhaps the bikini trend for pregnant women started in Hollywood when famous actresses wanted everyone to see their baby bump, rather than hide their growing bodies under yards and yards of fabric.

Nevertheless, regardless of the season or location, pregnant women around the world are proudly showing off their tummies in public when they choose to wear bikinis. This new trend is also noticeable in everyday clothing, since many women just put on their designer elastic-waist sweat pants with a halter top or long clinging T-shirt.

The only guidelines for pregnant women wearing regular swimsuit bikinis are:

1. Make sure that you can buy tops and bottoms separately.

2. Buy a top that accommodates your enlarged bust line due to your pregnancy.

3. Choose a stretchy fabric for the bikini bottoms. Even though the bottoms will fit comfortably below your bump, the stretchiness will help your bottoms stay up better than if you were wearing a natural fabric, or one with ties at the sides.

4. Make sure you can stretch and flex your body easily while wearing the bikini, so that it doesn’t feel too tight on your body.

5. You also might want to forego the thong until after the baby is born. Choose a bikini bottom that partially or fully covers your bottom, which will make the front section of the bikini bottom feel less binding.

Mix ‘n match bikinis are very popular with pregnant women. Ladies can choose from many different colors, designs, styles, and sizes, while knowing that each bikini piece will fit a woman’s body the way she feels most comfortable, regardless if one piece is two sizes larger than the other piece. That’s the beauty of this new trend; buy separate tops and bottoms in any size you choose.

Bikinis that a pregnant woman can wear are available online through the Internet as well as in retail stores worldwide.

One final caution, no matter where you buy your bikini, find out what the store’s return and exchange policies are before paying for your swimsuit. Some stores honor returns and require that you pay for the return shipping, but other stores allow you only to exchange one suit for another one. Make sure you understand the store’s return policy.

These recent trends in swimwear make pregnant girls and women feel special. Looking good when you’re pregnant is a morale-booster. Therefore, since the latest maternity swimwear shows off a woman’s baby bump with pride, you can feel confident about buying and wearing a two-piece swimsuit bikini when you’re pregnant.

Stylish Plus Size Swimsuits to Flatter Your Body Shape

There is room for a little relaxation and sunshine in our life. The best way to have it is to go on a holiday trip. But before you go, don’t forget to buy your brand new plus size swimsuit. It will transform the trip into a high class relaxing trip, because an eye catching swimsuit always brings joy to its wearer.

There are lots of possibilities to choose from. The only thing you need to do is shop around and look for the best. Maybe you think it is stressful or humiliating to buy a plus size swimsuit, but with obesity rates skyrocketing in the USA, plus size bathing suits are slowly becoming the norm. So when you are going to have fun, the absolute most important thing to do is to choose a swimwear that you feel comfortable in. You will look great if you feel great! So stop feeling self conscious about your bathing suit, and feel the warmth of the sun.

I admit that it is hard to make a choice with the variety of styles and beautiful colors, but it all depends on your style. Every body type has a perfect swimsuit, so don’t worry if you don’t find one at the first place you visit. Here are some tips that will help you choose.

- Tankini: this is a more poplar type of swimsuit which consists of two pieces: the bikini and a flattering tank top; you are wearing sexy bikini bottoms and the top covers the belly.

- V neck tank top allows you to be sexy without revealing too much.

The most common material used is the Lycra, which will fit most body forms perfectly. However, there are other materials too so be sure to consider them as well. When you buy a plus size swimsuit, make sure that the suit is made from this kind of form fitting material, so you will feel in control and sexy.

- Bottoms: because of the great variety of styles, you don’t have to worry that you won’t find anything that suits you.

If you aren’t afraid to show your beautiful legs, then a brief would be perfect for you. Besides, it offers a greater freedom of movement in the water. When you are wearing a V neck halter top, you should pair that with a skirtini in order for your bathing suit to be in perfect harmony with your body.

The skirt is better suited for you if you are conscious about your tight area but you can also choose the full covering one piece swimsuit, if you feel more comfortable in it.

Bikini Sports

Do you love wearing your skimpy micro bikini just about any and everywhere? If so, then here are some bikini sports that will allow you to flaunt your barely there swimsuits in competitions and friendly romps. The bikini is for more than just walking along the beach or hanging out at the pool. It’s durable and flexible enough to wear during the most rugged and robust sports around. Check out our swimwear sports list to pick an activity you can participate in for some great bikini fun.

Beach Volleyball
In the 1990’s the bikini became the official uniform of many female volleyball players. It’s worn for it’s extreme athleticism and ability to allow you to dive and reach for high and low balls without compromising comfort.

Running
Jogging or sprinting is the perfect sport for wearing your bikini. It’s extremely steady and allows you to run for exceptionally long durations while staying intact. In the Sydney 2000 Olympics, runner Florence Griffith-Joyner mixed and matched bikini bottoms with long one-legged tights. She said it made her run faster.

Handball
Everyone knows that handball is a game of speed and concentration. Wearing a bikini allows for endurance of a vigorous and sturdy game. You can be extra springy and unrestricted while bending and folding your body in various positions to hit the ball.

Wrestling
These days more women are participating in this rugged sport while wearing skimpy micro bikini. You can perform grandiose body maneuvers while looking absolutely sexy at the same time. Ruffle your opponent’s feathers by putting them in a head lock while sporting a sexy brazilian bikini.

Football
Since the emergence of the lingerie football league, women have been engaging in this sport with vigor and determination. Wearing a bikini while playing a friendly game of football with your friends is exciting and challenging. Tackle your best friend wearing a thong and watch everyone go wild.

The bikini has come a long way from just being used as tool for swimming or modeling. It has become a part of a new genre of usage that is evolving with each passing season. So the next time you feel like working up a good sweat, pull out public enemy #1 and yell “Go bikini!”

Micro Bikini – String Bikini Dos and Don’ts

It may seem like choosing a micro bikini (or string bikini) is a no brainer, especially since micro bikinis cover very little of your body. But there are some things you should be aware of when choosing string bikinis.

Dos

As with choosing any type of apparel, color is very important. Make sure, when picking which string bikini you want, that your string bikini compliments your skin color. Don’t know how? Warmer colors don’t look so hot on tanned bodies, but rather lighter skin. Solid bikinis look good on some people, while mixed designs look better on others.

Since you’re going to be wearing your micro bikini in public, it’s important that it fits you properly and does not fall down. Since micro bikinis are built with straps, they will most likely be able to adjust to the shape of your body.

One of the most important things you’ll need to do when wearing a string bikini is wax. If you can see hair in those areas of yours that you’re trying to sport around, it can be quite a nasty turn off. You can get a wax at your local salon or buy DIY waxing supplies and, well, DIY.

Also be sure to check if the micro bikini covers a good area of your real, that is, if you’re not wearing a g-string type of micro bikini. If you’re not, make sure the micro bikini doesn’t ride up (how uncomfortable) by sitting, walking around, and doing other activities you might do while casually wearing a micro bikini. If you are wearing a g-string style micro bikini, make sure you look yourself over in a three way mirror.

Be sure to mix and match string bikini tops and bottoms as well. You just may find the perfect complimenting pair of pieces by searching for the right amount of time.

Don’ts

Don’t hold onto your string bikini if it’s showing its age. That is a serious fashion problem and can sometimes lead to discomfort. This is due particularly to the fact that your string bikini has been through salt water, chlorine, and other degrading substances. This also can weaken the elasticity of the strings, making you want to tie the bikini tighter. That can lead to the strings breaking and possibly having the string bikini fall off you.

Do not forget your SPF. Apply it to every area of your body, even under your strings as they may move around and expose different places of your body. Burns are not attractive, nor are they in style.

If you don’t think you look good in your string bikini, or you are un-confident when wearing it, don’t wear it. Consider other pieces of lingerie besides string bikinis.

Tankini: The Bikini Revolution

Women everywhere have always been faced by the existential sunbathing dilemma: to hide or not to hide? How much is too revealing and how sad is not showing enough? But due to the recent revolutionary efforts of swim wear designers from all across the fashion world, there is bound to be one just perfect for you. You don’t have to resort to extreme flaunting nor do you have to cover up like an uncomfortably wrapped burrito either. With this fairly new genius take on bikinis, you can’t go wrong. Next to the bikini and the one-piece maillot, the tankini could as well be the next great addition to the wonderful world of swimsuits. Thank God for the Tankini!

This hybrid of the tank top, the one-piece suit and the bikini has proven to be one of a girl’s best friends. Who would’ve thought tank tops could be so hydro-fashionable? It captivates onlookers and soon-to-be supporters of the movement with its ability to hide unwanted skin surface area and minimize flaws in the middle section, yet still manage to exude the sexy factor. If you aren’t a big fan of showing off too much skin or are still a little apprehensive about flaunting your God-given assets, then it would be a good idea to take this direction. Next to the skin-baring eye-catching string bikini comes the comfort and charm of the tankini.

As with any other kind of bathing suit, there is a lot of variations to the tankini as far as fit and style are concerned. Some tops are meant to reach down to the hips to meet the bikini bottoms and provide full tummy coverage. Other tankini tops cut off mid-waist or just around the upper hip area to show a little ab action. For a more ruffled and wild tankini experience, a Ruched number would be perfect. It provides for a slightly more form-fitting top and suits women who want a tailored look. If you’re interested to get this elegant whim, you can check out the DKNY Dark Teal Green Ruched Tankini. It is made utterly fabulous by its shiny stretchable ruched nylon top highlighted by its sexy v-neck cut, adjustable shoulder straps, full bottom coverage, and sufficiently padded shelf bra. For an irresistible 40% off discount, you can purchase the gorgeous item for only $61.00 at http://www.bluefly.com.

I would suggest getting a camikini for more breast support, which is almost like a tankini except the top looks more like a camisole or undershirt. It boasts of ultra comfort and supreme hold. The Nautica Palm-print Soft Cup Camikini and Hipster Swimsuit, for example, will surely turn you into the hottest babe at the beach. Its camisole top has easy-rest straps, soft cups, and an elastic back to ensure a delightful yet relaxed summer experience. Its blue and yellow palm-leaf print trimming camouflages undesirable love handles and back flabs making it the ideal suit for women with weight concerns. This gem should be available in sizes 0 through 16 on http://www.overstock.com and if you find the desire to buy one, you get to save over $56 from the online purchase.

Since tankinis are basically two pieces of brilliant couture, it would be fun to mix and match solid or printed tops with other bottoms that you might already have. They are versatile and pocket-friendly that way. You could start with the Starlet Halter Top from the *Vitamin A* swim wear collection which is made with a super soft fabric finish. It has no padding or under wire, but proves to be one hell of a supportive tankini top even for the moderately top heavy. Pair it with your favorite khaki shorts, swim suit bottom, denim skirt, or low-rise jeans and you’ll surely turn heads at the beach or on a blissful and elegant evening around town. Get it for only $84 on instyleswimwear.com. So before you take that in-door summer sabbatical, bid adieu to the yummy lifeguards on duty at the beach or stick to your very own inflatable pool. Do consider the tankini for one second. It would not just save your social life but it can actually feel pretty good once you’re wearing it.
