Is There a Total Cure For Razor Bumps?
Razor bumps are an irritation to both men and women and especially men of color who are most affected. These familiar pimples are caused when shaved hair regrows and then pierces the skin again. When it does this the skin in turn responds and attacks the hair as if it was a foreign object. This counter attack is what causes swelling and pain. The bumps can also become inflamed and swollen making it extremely difficult to shave. Those who attempt to shave over these bumps are greeted with bleeding and possible future scarring of the skin.
Razor bumps are also called “ingrown hairs” Both men and women are affected by ingrown hairs but if you have course or curly hair, you are more prone. This is exactly why men and women of color fall victim to ingrown hairs more than other races. Men mostly experience razor bumps under their chins and on their facial cheeks because these are the areas where they tend to shave the most. Women mostly shave the bikini area and this is where they tend to be attacked by ingrown hairs.
As annoying as ingrown hairs are, there are ways to limit their occurrence and even to totally eradicate them. Many people spend a lot of money and time seeking ways to eliminate razor bumps but you will be surprised at just how easy and simply the proven methods are. Let us examine a few.
Before you shave, take a shower or bath, preferably warm water. This softens the hair follicles making it easier to shave. It also makes the skin soft and ready for shaving.
Another tip that is very helpful and which is also widely ignored is the state of the razor. Never reuse a razor. Statistics show that most people use the same razor at least 5 times! This is one of the major causes of razor bumps. This is because a dull blade does not shave close and instead leaves a stump of hair that has a very pointed head which then grows and punctures the skin as it curls inwards.
Also when shaving, avoid short repeated strokes in the same general area. Most people think that if they move the razor repeatedly in the same short strokes on one area it will eradicate razor bumps. This is untrue.
Using of gels and shaving cremes when shaving is also very helpful. These are no longer costly and can be found in many neighborhood pharmacies. Using cremes while shaving also lessens the possibility of infection if the razor is blunt.
These are some easy steps to take to eradicate ingrown hairs and can be very inexpensive.

Types of Bikini Waxing
If you’ve ever been troubled by the appearance of unwanted hair in your bikini region, you might want to consider waxing. Although this method of hair removal has scary reputation, it is actually quite safe and comes with many benefits.
Not only is the painful part of the procedure over quickly, but it also banishes hair for three to eight weeks and prevents it from growing back in a thick manner. This is because waxing is a method of epilation; with other words the hair is removed beneath the skin’s outer layer.
Due to the sensitivity of the bikini area, waxing is best done by a professional, or esthetician. Don’t be ashamed about making an appointment; salon staff members have seen it all. Make sure to indicate whether you want a basic bikini or a Brazilian wax.
Basic bikini wax just removes the pubic hair that might poke out the sides of your swimsuit bottom. The Brazilian wax, on the other hand, removes all hair from the pubic area, including the labia and the buttocks. In either case, warm wax will be applied to the desired region, followed by a strip of fabric. When the wax cools, both the fabric and the wax will be quickly ripped off against the direction of hair growth. Done properly, the pain will be minimal, and the redness should subside in a few hours.
People with diabetes should consult with their physician before undergoing such a procedure, since they are more prone to infection in the off chance that their skin is torn during wax removal. Anyone with a skin condition-such as rash, warts, or pimples should wait until their skin is clear before getting a wax. Otherwise, they run the risk of damaging their skin.

Bikini Waxing at Home – Everything You Need to Know
If you’ve had enough of frequent shaving and the constant itching that often goes with it, and you don’t have the time or money for a salon, you might have thought about trying a home bikini wax. Here are some tips to help your bikini waxing go smoothly. First, exfoliate and make sure the area is clean. Large amounts of bacteria live in the bikini area and you don’t want them getting into the exposed hair follicles after your bikini waxing.
Make sure the bikini area is bone dry before you begin. Sprinkling baby powder over the area is another good way to make sure it’s dry. Bikini wax won’t stick properly to wet skin. Nor will it pull out very short hairs. You will have to wait ’til they are around quarter of an inch long if you’ve had a bikini wax recently. On the other hand, hair shouldn’t be too long. Trim it if it is. As we’re getting closer to the pain part, this is a good time to remind you to take a couple of painkillers before you start waxing. You could also try one of the numbing creams or sprays, which are now available.
Waxing kits are many. Hard wax formulas, cold waxes, and sugar waxes are among them. You can even make the wax yourself. Do some research to find one that’s right for you. Some claim to be suitable for a Brazilian wax, but actually you should never attempt a Brazilian wax at home. Whichever bikini wax you choose make sure you pull hairs out by their roots to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. If this is your first bikini wax, bear it mind that this is the most it’s going to hurt. Waxing weakens the hair follicles so hair re-growth is less prolific with each treatment. Eventually, you may find you don’t need to bikini wax very often at all.
After waxing, calamine lotion will soothe the area. Don’t wear tight-fitting clothes or underwear until any redness or pain has gone. Waxing lasts for about for four weeks.

Wax Brazilian – The Brazilian Wax and Why its So Popular
The Bikini and Brazilian wax are more popular than ever, not just with celebrities but with an increasing number of women worldwide. Here we will look at the advantages of waxing Brazilian and exactly what it entails.
While many women avoid pubic hair waxing, opting instead for a razor, many more are taking the plunge opting for a Bikini wax or the more extreme Brazilian wax.
Bikini waxing, removes the hair that is visible around the bikini area and the Brazilian waxing removes all of the hair from the genital region.
The Brazilian waxing is a trend that has grown in popularity for women and an ever increasing amount of men.
Bikini Waxing
It’s a great method of hair removal if you are a wax virgin, so let’s look at it.
Bikini waxing involves the application of warm wax to the area around the bikini line and allows women the freedom to wear skimpy swimwear and lingerie without embarrassment.
After the wax has been applied a strip of cloth is pressed on top the skin and then ripped off against the direction of the hair growth removing the hair and roots.
Brazilian Waxing
Waxing Brazilian style focuses on the genital area and involves the removal of hair from the areas around the vagina and also the perineum and anus.
The entire genital area is covered with talcum powder then wax applied and the hair removed the same way as in the Bikini wax.
The Brazilian waxing does not necessarily involve complete hair removal from the genital region and many choose to leave a ‘landing strip’, of hair above the vagina.
Any remaining stray hairs left are then removed with a pair of tweezers one by one.
Brazilian Waxing – The Procedure
Waxing Brazilian style involves you adopting various positions
Expect to have to contort your body, in to various positions i.e. holding your legs up in the air, to the side, over the therapist’s shoulder and any position necessary in order for the therapist to get all the hair removed.
For a Brazilian wax, the pubic hair needs be about a quarter inch in length and so it may be necessary for your therapist to trim it down to this length before the wax is applied.
After all the hair has been removed a lotion to soothe and cool the area is applied.
Advantages can be summarized as follows:
o Lasts between 3 – 5 weeks.
* You can wear revealing lingerie and swimwear without the need to worry about unsightly hair.
o You feel clean and it’s and very hygienic.
o Women tend to find it makes orgasms more intense and oral sex is more satisfying and men simply adore it
o Its relatively inexpensive.
* It takes just 30 minutes of your time – so is similar to having your nails done.
Disadvantages can be summed up in one word:
Pain!
However the pain decreases with subsequent Brazilian waxing and most women who have done feel the pain is worth it and is not normally as bad as they first thought.
If you are a bit dubious of waxing Brazilian style from the start go for a bikini wax first before moving onto to the Brazilian wax.
A Waxing treatment is always best to be done by a professional in a salon although many women opt for home waxing kits – if you do you need to extremely careful!
The benefits
Waxing Brazilian style is not new and there is evidence of it being used thousands of years ago in ancient cultures such as, Persia, Greece and India to name a few.
Today, its popularity is growing all the time and gives feelings of, freedom, liberation, sensuality and cleanliness – waxing Brazilian style has a lot going for it, that’s why it will remain popular and with it being affordable more and more women are trying it.

Best Way to Wax Bikini Line to Prevent Ingrown Hairs
Does waxing your bikini area result in a huge mess? We are here to provide you with the secret- hard wax! It is particularly designed for rough hair, does not need a strip, and actually “shrink wraps” the hair forcing them to be more easily removed. By following this hair removal technique, you’ll get rid of your unwanted hair and learn to prevent ingrown hairs.
These guidelines are to perform an ordinary bikini wax in your own home. Unless of course you’re a gymnast, it is really hard to imagine one can do a Brazilian bikini wax on themselves. Leave that particular one to the experts.
This is Just How You Do It:
Get a waxing kit. It is highly recommended to use hard wax for the bikini line since the hair is coarse. Hard wax (check price ranges) goes on smooth, but stiffens so it will not need a strip to be taken off. The next instructions are for the application of hard wax.
Have enough hair. Let the bikini hair grow out to no less than 1/4″ long. Make use of hair trimmers to trim hair down if longer than 1/2″. Scissors aren’t effective for cutting it off since you can risk making the hair too short.
Clean skin. Use pre-wax cleanser on your bikini area and use pre-epilation oil which works together with hard wax. Never add too much of the oil as excessive use does not make it more effective.
Put the wax on. By using an applicator, apply wax uniformly FIRST in the opposite direction of hair growth, and after that WITH the direction of hair growth onto a good sized area (approximately 4 1/2″ long and 2 1/2″ wide) in the same stroke. Go passed the area in which your hair grows. This will make it easier for you to take off and you’ll make sure most of the hair is taken out with the first pull. The wax will flatten while it stiffens. In the event the wax is not hard enough when taken off, it will not remove every one of the hairs. This is where a good skin cream would help.
Take out hair. Use your fingers to gently flick up a small sector of the wax that is not connected to the hair on the end so that it can be used as a tab as soon as it has cooled down. Let’s say your hair grows from left to right- the end is on the right side. Hold skin tight with one hand, and take off wax in the opposite direction of hair growth in a single super quick pull all the way to the other side. Do not pull-up which can be your natural tendency. Press palm down on skin to help you alleviate a little bit of the pain after the wax is taken off. It sound ridiculous, but it works!
Do it again. Work your way waxing the bikini area, repeating steps 4 and 5.
Use tweezers to get rid of any hairs skipped by the wax.
Cleanse skin. Get rid of any leftover residue with wax remover.
Relieve skin. Use an after-wax cream, an aloe based product, or cream gel.

Your First Time Brazilian Bikini Wax
First, you must be sure that you want to get a brazilian bikini wax. Consider trying first the standard bikini wax which will remove the hair from your bikini line or the full bikini which will remove most of your pubic hair apart from the most sensitive areas. A brazilian bikini wax removes ALL your pubic hair.
We advise you to get your first brazilian bikini wax by a professional. Many women who try to give themselves a brazilian bikini wax, cause damage and their bikini area looks worse after the brazilian wax.
You could find a salon that offers a brazilian bikini wax in any big US city. Just look in the “Yellow pages” or in any search engine for “brazilian wax” + “name of your city”.
After locating a salon, find out how many brazilian waxes they do a week? Make sure that the persons who are responsible for the brazilian bikini wax are experienced. Ask to talk to customers that got a brazilian bikini wax from the same salon.
Open your purse. A brazilian bikini wax may cost up to 100 US dollars. However, the average cost is about 50 bucks. We advice you pay not less than the average price to get a professional treatment.
Come to your scheduled treatment with a good mood after taking a warm shower cleaning your pubic area.
You will get into a separate room or a hole with a curtain. Then you will lie on a bed with your knees up or legs down.
Then, the therapist will trim down your pubic hair with scissors to a length of about a quarter inch.
Afterwards, the real thing will start. The waxer will start the waxing process. He will use a low temperature wax to cause less pain. When the wax cools he will pull it out with your pubic hair. This part is the most painful one. However, the first time is the most painful one. The hair can be pulled out easier in the following times.
The waxer will ask you to get into some weird uncomfortable positions – holding your legs up, to the side and even over your head.
If the waxer is a good one the painful part will end quickly. If you feel it takes too long or that the pain is unbearable, just tell the therapist that you need a little rest. When the waxing is done a soothing lotion should be applied to the pubic area. Your bikini area will stay smooth for at least 3 weeks with no maintenance at all. Make the most out of it.
